BojEn doo Opens the First High-Tech Biorefinery in Serbia

As part of its existing biogas plant, BojEn LLC inaugurates a bio-waste pasteurization facility to address decades-long challenges of disposing and treating biological waste in the region.

Bojnik, December 15, 2023 – Serbian company BojEn LLC, in collaboration with the EU and UNDP as part of the EU Green Agenda for Serbia initiative, is hosting a workshop titled "Treatment of Biodegradable Waste through Anaerobic Digestion for Electricity Production." This event officially marks the launch of a bio-waste pasteurization facility integrated into the company’s existing biogas plant. The workshop will take place on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the biogas plant in Bojnik and the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Leskovac, starting at 12:30. A guided tour of the facility will also be organized as part of the event.

The treatment of bio-waste provides food producers and farms with the opportunity to dispose of waste in a proper, ecological manner, thereby avoiding catastrophic pollution of rivers and land. BojEn LLC's biogas plant converts all types of biological waste into clean, green energy while simultaneously producing the highest quality fertilizer as a byproduct.

Đorđe Mančić, Director of BojEn LLC, expressed great pride in this achievement and anticipates similar projects across Serbia in the future:"By creating opportunities for bio-waste treatment in our country, our team has achieved a significant milestone. We have demonstrated that Serbia can be environmentally responsible, even in its most underdeveloped regions, such as the municipality of Bojnik."

Boško Dramićanin, Production Director at BojEn LLC, extended an invitation to other businesses: "We urge other companies and enterprises to prioritize sustainability and environmental protection. We expect bio-waste generators in the region to actively utilize bio-waste treatment services and align their operations with regulations.
